Fer Vazquez

Fernando Vázquez Rodríguez, better known as Fer Vázquez, is a celebrated Uruguayan singer, songwriter, and television personality, born on May 15, 1994, in Montevideo, Uruguay. He rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the popular cumbia pop band Rombai, which he co-founded in 2014.

Before forming Rombai, Fer gained early recognition with the band Márama, where he collaborated with Agustín Casanova. Their breakout hit, “Una Noche Contigo,” marked Fer’s debut as a singer and set the stage for his future success. In the same year, he helped create Rombai, and their first single, “Locuras Contigo,” quickly became a viral sensation on YouTube, gathering millions of views in a short time.

Throughout his career with Rombai, Fer has been behind numerous chart-topping hits like “Segundas Intenciones,” “Yo Te Propongo,” and “Me Voy.” The band’s performances have earned them prestigious awards, including the Gaviota de Plata and Gaviota de Oro at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Chile in 2017.

Outside of music, Fer has shown his versatility by appearing on popular television programs such as “Bailando por un Sueño” and “¿Quién es la máscara?” in Uruguay. Fer’s personal life also caught attention, as he was previously in a relationship with fellow singer Emilia Mernes.
