About Falling In Reverse
Falling in Reverse is an American rock band formed in 2008 by lead vocalist Ronnie Radke. Originally named “From Behind These Walls,” the band quickly changed its name to Falling in Reverse. The group has been through numerous lineup changes, with Radke remaining the only original member. Currently, the band includes Radke as the lead vocalist, Max Georgiev and Christian Thompson as guitarists, and Tyler Burgess as the bassist. They are signed to Epitaph Records, a label that has been instrumental in their journey.
The band released its debut album, The Drug in Me Is You, in July 2011, which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 and sold 18,000 copies in its first week. The album, which was later certified gold by the RIAA in December 2019, showcased Radke’s raw emotions and personal struggles, themes that resonated deeply with their fans. Their second album, Fashionably Late, was released in 2013 and also performed well, peaking at No. 17 on the Billboard 200. The band’s third album, Just Like You, followed in 2015, with Coming Home being released in 2017. Their most recent album, Popular Monster, was released on August 16, 2024.
Ronnie Radke’s journey with Falling in Reverse began after a tumultuous period in his life. In 2006, Radke was involved in an altercation in Las Vegas, which led to a fatal shooting. Although Radke did not shoot the victim, he was indicted on charges related to owning brass knuckles, which, combined with his past legal troubles, resulted in a five-year probation. After violating his probation, Radke was sentenced to two years in prison, during which time he was removed from his previous band, Escape the Fate, and replaced by Craig Mabbitt. During his incarceration, Radke began forming a new band, initially called From Behind These Walls, which later became Falling in Reverse due to copyright issues.
Upon his release from prison in December 2010, Radke quickly began working on new music with Falling in Reverse. The band’s early lineup included Radke, bassist Nason Schoeffler, guitarist Jacky Vincent, rhythm guitarist Derek Jones, and drummer Ryan Seaman. Over time, the lineup changed as members left and new ones joined, but Radke’s presence remained constant. The debut album, The Drug in Me Is You, was heavily influenced by Radke’s experiences during his time in prison, reflecting his emotional state and the challenges he faced.
Following the release of their debut album, Falling in Reverse quickly gained popularity, performing at major events such as the Vans Warped Tour and embarking on multiple headlining tours. The band’s music videos, particularly for tracks like “The Drug in Me Is You” and “I’m Not a Vampire,” gained significant attention online, helping to solidify their fan base.
As Falling in Reverse continued to release new music, they evolved both in sound and in the themes they explored. The band’s journey, marked by both success and controversy, reflects Radke’s resilience and determination to rise above his past and continue making music that resonates with fans worldwide.
