Eric Reprid, born Shi Yi Liu on November 21, 1998, is an independent Canadian rapper and songwriter based in Vancouver. Known for his laid-back yet introspective style, he has carved out a distinct space in the modern hip-hop scene. His breakthrough came in 2020 with the single Cold World, which racked up over 50 million streams on Spotify and earned him a Juno Award nomination for Rap Recording of the Year in 2021.

Reprid started releasing music in late 2017, dropping his debut album Who Cares in 2018. From the beginning, he has worked closely with producer Marc Wavy, forming a creative partnership that has defined his sound—a blend of moody beats, sharp lyricism, and a melodic flow. This collaboration has led to standout projects like Bloom and, more recently, the 2022 album 3TERNITY, further cementing his status as a rising force in hip-hop.

What sets Reprid apart is his ability to weave personal experiences into his music, creating tracks that feel both reflective and relatable. His lyrics often explore themes of ambition, struggle, and self-discovery, resonating deeply with fans. Despite his growing success, he remains independent, taking full control of his artistic vision and career.

With his unique sound and ever-expanding audience, Eric Reprid continues to push boundaries, proving that independent artists can thrive in today’s music industry without conforming to mainstream expectations.
