About Eladio Carrión
Eladio Carrión, born on November 14, 1994, in Kansas City, Kansas, is a trailblazer in the Latin trap and reggaeton music scenes. Raised in a military family, his childhood was marked by constant relocations, living in places like Hawaii, Baltimore, New York, and Alaska. At 11, Carrión’s family settled in Humacao, Puerto Rico, where he developed a deep connection with music, laying the foundation for his future career.
Before becoming a musician, Carrión was an accomplished swimmer, representing Puerto Rico at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and the 2011 Pan American Games. However, he transitioned into entertainment, initially gaining fame through comedic content on social media platforms like Vine and Instagram. His creative, humorous videos quickly gained traction and helped him build a substantial online following, leading him to explore music professionally.
In 2015, Carrión entered the music scene as a composer for other artists, and his breakout moment came in 2017 with the single “Me Enamoré de Una Yal,” featuring Ñengo Flow and Ele A El Dominio. This success opened doors for him, and he continued to rise in prominence with the 2018 hit “Mi Cubana,” a collaboration with Cazzu, Khea, and Ecko, solidifying his reputation in Latin music.
Carrión’s career continued to soar with the release of his debut studio album Sauce Boyz in 2020, which charted for ten weeks. His follow-up, Monarca (2021), earned a Latin Grammy nomination, and 3men2 Kbrn (2023) further established his status. His latest release, Sol María (2024), continues to showcase his versatility. Carrión is also venturing into television with a sitcom inspired by his experiences as a “no sabo kid,” further expanding his creative endeavors.
