EL CAPITXN

EL CAPITXN, born Jang Yi Jeong on September 10, 1993, in Jinju, South Korea, is a singer-songwriter and producer who has left a lasting mark on the K-pop industry. His musical journey began as the main vocalist and youngest member (maknae) of the boy group HISTORY, which debuted under LOEN Entertainment (later FAVE Entertainment) in 2013. With his powerful vocals and stage presence, he quickly gained recognition, but after the group disbanded in 2017, he set his sights on a different path—music production.

Determined to reinvent himself, Jang initially worked under the name J.Pearl as part of Devine Channel from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, he adopted the name EL CAPITXN and joined Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE), where he became a key figure in shaping the sounds of some of the biggest names in K-pop. His production credits include BTS, TXT, PSY, NCT, IU, Sunmi, Heize, and ZeroBaseOne, proving his ability to craft chart-topping hits across various genres.

Beyond working with major labels, EL CAPITXN also nurtured independent talent. In 2018, he co-founded the music production team VENDORS alongside his former HISTORY bandmate Jaeho. This venture later expanded into Vendors Production in 2024, bringing together a collective of talented producers, including former members of A-JAX and HOTSHOT. His vision for creating fresh, innovative music continues to drive his work.

EL CAPITXN remains deeply connected to his fans and fellow artists, actively sharing his creative journey on social media. His evolution from idol to producer and entrepreneur is a testament to his resilience and artistic growth, making him a defining force in the ever-changing landscape of K-pop.
