Don Choa

François Dilhan, better known by his stage name Don Choa, is a prominent French rapper born on August 1, 1974, in Toulouse, France. He first rose to fame as a member of the influential Marseille-based hip-hop group Fonky Family, which was established in 1994. The group made waves in the French music scene with their debut album Si Dieu veut… in 1997, which achieved gold status and solidified their place in the hip-hop world. Fonky Family’s success continued with albums like Art de rue (2001) and Marginale musique (2006), before they disbanded in 2007.

After the group’s dissolution, Don Choa ventured into a successful solo career. He released his debut solo album, Vapeurs toxiques, in 2002, followed by Jungle de béton in 2007. His music blends hard-hitting rap with thoughtful commentary on societal issues, personal struggles, and his own life experiences, a signature style that has resonated with many fans.

Don Choa has also collaborated with a variety of artists throughout his career, expanding his reach and influence within the French hip-hop landscape. Notably, his track “Lune de miel” with Zaho showcased his ability to combine rap with melodic elements, adding versatility to his sound.
