Lee Joon-kyung, better known by his stage name Dok2, is a well-known South Korean rapper, record producer, and influential figure in the Korean hip-hop scene. Born on March 28, 1990, in Gyeongju, South Korea, Dok2 comes from a diverse background, with his mother being Korean and his father of Filipino and Spanish descent. Despite rumors of a familial connection to American singer Nicole Scherzinger, Dok2 has clarified that although they share some ancestral ties, they have not met personally.

Dok2’s journey into music began at a young age. He started rapping at just 12 years old, and by 16, he joined the Korean hip-hop group All Black, making his debut in 2006. He ventured into a solo career in 2008 and, in 2011, co-founded Illionaire Records with fellow rapper The Quiett. This label played a crucial role in shaping the landscape of Korean hip-hop and has been instrumental in the success of several prominent artists in the genre.

Dok2’s musical catalog includes successful albums such as “Flow 2 Flow,” “Hustle Real Hard,” and “Love & Life, The Album.” He also became a judge on the popular Korean rap competition show “Show Me the Money,” where he mentored artists like Bobby from iKon.

In 2018, Dok2 relocated to the U.S. to expand his musical reach. He formed the group PO$TA BOY$ with American rapper Tyga in 2019 and signed with Tyga’s Last Kings Records in 2021. Despite legal challenges and arrests, Dok2 continues to make an impact on the hip-hop industry, known for his unique style and contributions to the genre.
