Didi B, born Bassa Zéréhoué Diyilem on April 3, 1992, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, is a trailblazing Ivorian rapper, singer, and songwriter known for blending hip-hop with traditional African rhythms. His deep-rooted passion for music and the arts comes from his family—his father, Abou Bassa Bomou, is a pianist, actor, and arranger, while his late mother, Péhoula Zéréhoué, was a choreographer and dancer.

Didi B’s artistic journey began at an incredibly young age. At just three years old, he made his first stage appearance in Meiway’s music video Death Society. By ten, he was already acting in music videos and UNICEF-produced television series. At thirteen, he landed the lead role in Les Frères Kadogo, a film that won multiple awards at FESPACO and Vues d’Afrique, further proving his talent extended beyond music.

In 2009, Didi B co-founded the rap group Kiff No Beat, which quickly became one of the most influential hip-hop collectives in West Africa. As his career evolved, he launched his solo journey in 2013 with Mojo Trône Vol.1. His signature style and lyrical depth attracted collaborations with top artists and major brands like Johnnie Walker and Budweiser. By 2021, he had signed with Coast to Coast and 92i Africa, the label founded by French rapper Booba.

His 2022 album Mojotrône II: History was a massive success, with over 50 million streams and thousands of physical copies sold. He followed it up with sold-out concerts at Abidjan’s Palais de la Culture and Guinea’s Stade Général Lansana Conté, as well as a headlining show in Paris. His hit single En Haut racked up 16 million streams, cementing his place at the top of the Ivorian music scene.

Didi B’s impact on African hip-hop has been recognized with multiple awards, including Best Francophone Artist at PRIMUD and Song of the Year at AFRIMA. In March 2024, he was awarded a gold record for Mojotrône II: History. With his continued innovation and dedication to his craft, Didi B remains one of the most influential voices in Ivorian and African music today.
