Dhee’s musical journey began in her stepfather’s studio, Indian music composer Santhosh Narayanan, who played a pivotal role in her career. She made her playback singing debut in Narayanan’s albums, contributing to Pizza II: Villa (2013) and Cuckoo (2014). Her initial exposure to Indian cinema came through these collaborations, but it was her work on the track “Naan Nee” from the film Madras (2014) that marked her significant breakthrough. Collaborating with Shakthisree Gopalan, Dhee’s performance on this track earned nominations for Best Female Singer at both the Filmfare Awards and Vijay Awards.

Dhee’s acclaim grew with her contribution to the sports drama Irudhi Suttru (2016), directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad. Her rendition of “Ey Sandakaara” and “Usuru Narumbuley” received praise for its emotional depth and musical quality. In March 2021, Dhee ventured into the pop music scene with her debut single “Enjoy Enjaami,” released under A.R. Rahman’s Maajja label. The song, produced by Santhosh Narayanan and featuring lyrics by Arivu, received widespread acclaim. The music video quickly gained popularity, accumulating over 398 million views and 4.6 million likes on YouTube as of March 2022. “Enjoy Enjaami” marked the beginning of Dhee’s exploration into contemporary jazz and English-language music, setting the stage for her upcoming studio album, which was anticipated to be released by the end of 2021.

In March 2023, Dhee expanded her reach into Telugu cinema with the song “Chamkeela Angeelesi” from the film Dasara. This song further broadened her appeal among Telugu-speaking audiences, showcasing her versatility and talent across different regional music industries.
