About Darkoo

Darkoo, born Oluwafisayo Isa on September 19, 2001, in Yaba, Lagos State, Nigeria, is a British-Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter. She moved to South London at the age of seven, where she was exposed to a melting pot of musical influences that would later shape her unique sound. Growing up in a city known for its diverse music scene, Darkoo was drawn to both UK rap and Afrobeats, blending the two effortlessly in her style.

She first started making music at 15, initially experimenting with drill before expanding her range to include more melodic elements. Her big break came in late 2019 with the track Gangsta, featuring One Acen. The song quickly gained traction on TikTok, catapulting her to mainstream recognition and landing on the UK Singles Chart, where it peaked at No. 22. The success of Gangsta solidified Darkoo as one of the most exciting new voices in British rap.

Following this momentum, she dropped Juicy in 2020, a collaboration with Hardy Caprio, which further established her as a force in the industry. That same year, she earned multiple MOBO Award nominations, including Best Female Act and Best Newcomer. In 2021, she contributed to the chart-topping remix of Body by Russ Millions and Tion Wayne and released her debut EP, 2 In 1, which showcased her versatility and ability to fuse genres.

By 2025, Darkoo had cemented her place in the UK music scene. Her single Favourite Girl, featuring Dess Dior, won Best Female Act and Song of the Year at the MOBO Awards. With a sound that blends Afrobeats, UK rap, and R&B, she continues to push boundaries, proving that her rise to stardom is just the beginning.
