Daniel Seavey

Daniel James Seavey, born on April 2, 1999, in Vancouver, Washington, is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist renowned for his diverse musical talents. Raised in a musically inclined family—his mother, Keri, is a religious writer and his father, Jeff, a Christian pastor—Daniel developed a love for music early on. He began playing instruments at age four, teaching himself to play piano by ear and eventually learning over 20 instruments by his teens.

Daniel first rose to prominence as a contestant on the 14th season of “American Idol” in 2015, where his vocal abilities and versatility earned him a spot in the Top 9. After his time on the show, he co-founded the boy band Why Don’t We in 2016, alongside Jonah Marais, Zach Herron, Corbyn Besson, and Jack Avery. The group quickly gained popularity, releasing chart-topping albums and embarking on extensive tours, amassing a dedicated global fan base.

In 2022, following Why Don’t We’s announcement of a hiatus, Daniel ventured into a solo career. He released his debut single “Can’t We Pretend That We’re Good” in November 2022, followed by his debut EP, Dancing In The Dark, in 2023. The EP, blending rock, pop, and electronic influences, was met with praise for showcasing Daniel’s artistic growth.

In 2024, Daniel released “The Older You Get,” the lead single from his upcoming album Second Wind. He also toured with artists like Benson Boone and Dean Lewis, further establishing himself as a rising star in the music industry.
