Damso – born William Kalubi on May 10, 1992, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo – is a Belgian rapper, singer, and songwriter who has become one of the most powerful voices in French-language rap. At the age of 10, he moved to Belgium with his family, where he later found refuge in music as a way to process his experiences and express his inner world.

Known for his deep voice and raw, introspective lyrics, Damso blends dark themes with poetic storytelling, exploring topics like identity, trauma, love, and social issues. He first caught mainstream attention through his connection with French rap icon Booba, who helped him gain a wider audience.
