Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, better known as Daddy Yankee, was born on February 3, 1977, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Raised in the Villa Kennedy public housing project, he initially dreamed of a baseball career. However, after a stray bullet struck his leg, he shifted his focus to music, marking the beginning of his transformative journey.

Daddy Yankee became a trailblazer in the reggaeton genre, with his 2004 smash hit “Gasolina” catapulting him to international fame. His groundbreaking album Barrio Fino (2004) solidified his place in the music world, and subsequent releases like El Cartel: The Big Boss (2007) and Prestige (2012) further showcased his influence. Collaborating with a range of artists across genres, he continued to shape the global soundscape of Latin music.
