About Crush (크러쉬)
Crush, born Shin Hyo-seob on May 3, 1992, in Seoul, South Korea, is a singer-songwriter and producer known for his signature blend of R&B, hip-hop, and soul. His smooth vocals and heartfelt lyrics have made him one of South Korea’s most respected artists in the genre.
From a young age, Crush was drawn to music, experimenting with beats and melodies during his middle school years. His stage name came about by accident when a friend misread his early alias, “C-sub,” but the name stuck—and soon, so did his reputation in the Korean R&B scene.
His official debut came in 2014 with the single “Sometimes”, followed by his first full-length album, Crush on You. His music, often infused with personal storytelling and emotional depth, quickly earned him a loyal fan base. He became part of prominent hip-hop collectives like VV:D and Fanxy Child, collaborating with artists such as Zion.T, Dean, and Zico.
In 2016, Crush’s career skyrocketed with the release of “Don’t Forget”, a heartfelt ballad featuring Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation, which won him his first music show award. That same year, he contributed “Beautiful” to the hit K-drama Goblin, further cementing his status as a top-tier R&B artist.
Seeking more creative freedom, he signed with P Nation in 2019, a label founded by Psy. His first release under P Nation, “Nappa,” showcased a fresh, laid-back sound that resonated with fans.
Beyond music, Crush has made appearances on TV, including the variety show No Math School Trip in 2023, where he charmed audiences with his humor and personality.
With his ever-evolving artistry and fearless approach to blending genres, Crush continues to shape the future of Korean R&B while staying true to his soulful roots.
