About Co’Sang
Co’Sang was a groundbreaking Italian hip-hop duo from Naples, made up of Antonio “Ntò” Riccardi and Luca “Luchè” Imprudente. Hailing from the working-class neighborhood of Marianella, the two artists formed the group in 1997 and quickly became known for their raw, unapologetic portrayal of Neapolitan street life. Their music was deeply rooted in their local culture, and they often rapped in the Neapolitan dialect—something rarely seen in Italian hip-hop at the time.
Their official debut came in 2005 with the album Chi more pe’ mme, a gritty, streetwise collection of 16 tracks that offered a vivid look into the challenges and realities of growing up in Naples. The project resonated with audiences thanks to its authenticity, leading to a distribution deal with Universal Music Group in 2006, which brought their sound to a wider national audience.
In 2009, Co’Sang followed up with Vita bona, a more polished but equally powerful record. It featured collaborations with respected artists like Rischio, Inoki, and Fuossera, and included standout tracks such as “Int’o rione” and “Pnzier’ pesant.” The album further cemented their place in Italian hip-hop as voices of the people, unafraid to tackle themes of poverty, identity, and social struggle.
In 2012, the duo announced an amicable split to pursue solo careers. Ntò and Luchè both went on to make significant individual contributions to Italian music, continuing the legacy of Co’Sang by evolving their sounds while staying true to their roots.
