Chino Pacas

Chino Pacas, born Cristian Humberto Ávila Vega on October 18, 2006, in Apaseo el Alto, Guanajuato, Mexico, is a rising star in the regional Mexican music scene. At just 17 years old, he has already made a significant mark with his unique sound that blends traditional corrido with urban influences.

Chino’s musical journey began at the age of 12 when he moved with his mother and older brother, Diego Vega (known as Turo Pacas), to Tampa Bay, Florida. While working in construction, he nurtured his passion for music, composing songs inspired by artists like Natanael Cano. In late 2022, Chino gained viral attention on TikTok with his song “El Gordo Trae El Mando,” which led to a recording deal with Street Mob Records, founded by Jesús Ortiz Paz of Fuerza Regida.

The official release of “El Gordo Trae El Mando” in January 2023 marked a milestone for Chino, debuting at number 84 on the Billboard Hot 100 and making him the youngest Mexican artist to chart at that time. He quickly followed up with collaborations such as “Dijeron Que No La Iba Lograr” with Fuerza Regida and “Qué Onda” with Calle 24, solidifying his presence in the genre.

Chino’s rise continued throughout 2023 with successful singles like “Que Sigan Llegando Las Pacas” and “Como Pancho Villa.” His impressive trajectory earned him a nomination for New Artist of the Year at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards. Despite his youth, Chino Pacas is already shaping the future of regional Mexican music, drawing attention from fans worldwide.
