Cast of EPIC: The Musical

​EPIC: The Musical is a modern reimagining of Homer’s Odyssey, crafted as a series of nine albums, each referred to as a “saga.” Created by composer and lyricist Jorge Rivera-Herrans, who also plays the lead role of Odysseus, the musical blends elements of theater with influences from anime, video games, and traditional myths, offering a fresh perspective on an ancient story.

The cast is a dynamic mix of talent, with many performers selected through TikTok auditions, showcasing the project’s unique, community-driven casting approach. Key cast members include Luke Holt as Zeus and Elpenor, Armando Julián as Eurymachus, Steven Dookie as Polites, and Teagan “TE/MO” Earley as Athena. Other standout performances include Ayron Alexander as Perimedes and Antinous, Kira Stone as Aeolus, Anna Lea as Penelope and the Sirens, and Miguel “MICO” Veloso as Telemachus.

The journey of “EPIC: The Musical” began in 2019 when Rivera-Herrans created the concept as his senior thesis at the University of Notre Dame. The musical gained a strong following in 2021, largely due to its viral success on social media, particularly TikTok. Despite facing challenges such as legal disputes and production delays, the team pushed forward, culminating in the release of the final “Ithaca Saga” in December 2024.

By merging traditional storytelling with modern digital tools, “EPIC: The Musical” has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide, offering a new, innovative take on a timeless tale.
