Carter Vail

Carter Vail, born on July 27, 1996, in Wilton, Connecticut, is an indie rock artist, singer, and content creator known for blending catchy melodies with a comedic touch. Raised in a culturally rich environment, with his mother from South Africa and his father from Tennessee, Vail was exposed to a broad spectrum of music from a young age. This early musical influence shaped his distinctive sound, which fuses indie rock, humor, and heartfelt storytelling.

Vail began his music career in 2018 while studying audio engineering at the University of Miami, releasing his debut single “Melatonin” that year. After graduating in 2019, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he co-founded Happy Camper Studios with friends. Although initially struggling to attract clients, this time allowed Vail to focus on his music, leading to the release of his first album Red Eyes in 2020.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vail’s creativity flourished on social media, where he began posting comedic songs and skits on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. One of his viral hits, “Dirt Man,” a bossa nova-infused track, earned millions of views and solidified his presence in the online music scene.

In July 2024, Vail dropped his album 100 Cowboys, blending upbeat tunes with introspective lyrics about personal experiences, including a significant breakup. Now based in Los Angeles, Vail continues to evolve as an artist, combining music and comedy to engage his ever-growing audience with authentic, relatable content.
