CA7RIEL

Ca7riel, born Catriel Guerreiro Fernández Peñaloza on December 5, 1993, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a dynamic musician known for blending rock, metal, and urban genres such as trap and hip-hop. Growing up in a musically rich environment, with his father being a guitarist in the band El Tinto Mandamiento, Ca7riel was immersed in various musical influences from an early age. He honed his skills as a guitarist at the Juan Pedro Esnaola School of Music, where he developed a deep passion for diverse musical styles.

In 2010, Ca7riel co-founded the rock band Astor y las Flores de Marte, experimenting with genres like progressive rock, funk, and reggae. However, his creative path eventually led him to urban music, marking his transition into the world of hip-hop. His 2015 album Cve7e was a turning point, embracing a more urban sound while moving away from his rock roots.

In 2018, Ca7riel formed a duo with Ulises Guerriero, known as Paco Amoroso. Together, they became known as Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, blending Latin trap with rock, jazz, and electronic music. Their debut album Baño María, released in April 2024, received widespread acclaim for its innovative sound. A defining moment in their career came with their performance at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts in October 2024, which went viral and boosted their international recognition.

Beyond their work as a duo, both artists have continued their successful solo careers. Ca7riel’s 2021 solo album El Disko fuses metal, soul, jazz, and electronic influences, further showcasing his versatility. His genre-defying music and electrifying performances have cemented his place as a key figure in Argentina’s contemporary music scene.
