BSS (부석순), also known as BooSeokSoon, is a sub-unit of the popular South Korean boy band SEVENTEEN, consisting of three members: Hoshi (Kwon Soonyoung), DK (Lee Seokmin), and Seungkwan (Boo Seungkwan). The name “BSS” comes from the first syllables of each member’s name, symbolizing their strong connection and teamwork.
The group officially debuted on March 21, 2018, with the digital single “Just Do It.” The track was well-received and introduced BSS’s unique style. After a brief hiatus, the sub-unit made a triumphant return in early 2023 with their first single album, “Second Wind.” The album, which featured hits like “Fighting” (featuring Lee Young-ji) and “Lunch,” was a commercial success, selling over 610,000 copies in its first week. Their track “Fighting” even earned them their first music show win on MBC M’s “Show Champion.”
In January 2025, BSS released their highly anticipated second single album, “Teleparty.” Building on their previous success, the album continued to showcase their musical versatility and creativity. Over the years, BSS has won numerous accolades, including the “Performance of the Year” award at the 2023 Asia Artist Awards, cementing their influential role in the K-pop industry.
