About BRELAND
Breland, born Daniel Gerard Breland on July 18, 1995, in Burlington Township, New Jersey, is an innovative artist who blends country, rap, R&B, gospel, and soul into a unique genre he calls “country trap.” Raised in a gospel-influenced home, Breland was immersed in a wide range of musical genres, shaping his diverse style. After attending Georgetown University, he moved to Atlanta to pursue his music career, where he began writing for artists like ELHAE and YK Osiris before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist.
His breakthrough came in 2019 with the release of his viral hit “My Truck,” which peaked at No. 26 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. The remix featuring Sam Hunt was certified platinum in 2021. Building on his success, Breland released his debut EP, Breland EP, in 2020, followed by his full-length album, Cross Country, in 2022. The album featured collaborations with renowned artists such as Keith Urban, Mickey Guyton, and Lady A.
In 2024, Breland released Project 2024, an EP inspired by his visit to Selma, Alabama. This project explores themes of resilience and community, with the track “Same Work,” featuring The War & Treaty, highlighting shared human experiences.
With his genre-defying sound and powerful storytelling, Breland continues to break musical boundaries, connecting deeply with audiences through his fresh take on country music.
