Bôa, an English alternative rock band formed in London in 1993, originally consisted of drummer Ed Herten, keyboardist Paul Turrell, guitarist and vocalist Steve Rodgers, and bassist Alex Caird. The band’s sound evolved over the years, blending funk and rock elements. After initially providing backing vocals, Steve’s younger sister, Jasmine Rodgers, joined as the lead vocalist, solidifying the band’s core lineup.

In 1998, Bôa released their debut album The Race of a Thousand Camels, which was exclusively released in Japan. The album’s standout track, “Duvet,” gained significant international attention when it was chosen as the opening theme for the anime series Serial Experiments Lain. This propelled Bôa into the global spotlight, earning them a dedicated following.

Over time, the band saw several lineup changes. Ed Herten left in 1994, with Lee Sullivan taking over on drums. Paul Turrell departed in 2001, and Ben Henderson left in 2000. Despite these shifts, Bôa continued to produce new music, releasing their second album Twilight in 2001 and their third album Get There in 2005.

After a hiatus, the band reunited in 2022, partly fueled by a resurgence in popularity of “Duvet” through social media platforms like TikTok. This revival led to the release of their first new music in nearly two decades, including the single “Walk with Me.” Bôa continues to be active, with plans for more releases and tours in the future.
