Better Lovers

Better Lovers is an American hardcore punk band that emerged in 2023, bringing together some of the most seasoned musicians in the heavy music scene. The band features Greg Puciato (ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan) on vocals, Jordan Buckley (ex-Every Time I Die) and Will Putney (Fit For An Autopsy) on guitars, Stephen Micciche (ex-Every Time I Die) on bass, and Clayton “Goose” Holyoak (ex-Every Time I Die) on drums.

The band’s formation came in the wake of Every Time I Die’s breakup in 2022. Buckley, Micciche, and Holyoak wanted to keep pushing forward creatively, and with the addition of Puciato and Putney, Better Lovers was born. Their combined backgrounds in chaotic hardcore, metalcore, and experimental rock made for a sound that was both aggressive and dynamic.

They introduced themselves to the world in April 2023 with 30 Under 13, a blistering debut single that set the tone for what was to come. By July, they had dropped their first EP, God Made Me an Animal, which showcased their ability to blend intensity with technical precision. Their live shows quickly gained a reputation for their raw energy, leading to extensive tours across North America and the UK.

In October 2024, Better Lovers released their debut full-length album, Highly Irresponsible, further cementing their place in the hardcore and metalcore scene. With a mix of relentless aggression and experimental edge, the band has carved out a space that resonates with both longtime fans of their previous projects and a new generation of heavy music listeners.
