Choi Beom-gyu, better known as Beomgyu, was born on March 13, 2001, in Daegu, South Korea. A talented singer, songwriter, dancer, and producer, he is a key member of TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), the globally recognized boy band that debuted under Big Hit Music in March 2019.
Growing up, Beomgyu was an active student leader, taking on roles like school president and class representative. However, his true passion lay in music. Before joining TXT, he played electric guitar in a local rock band, showcasing his early musical abilities. In 2016, a Big Hit Entertainment casting manager noticed his talent and invited him to audition in Seoul. Though initially hesitant due to school commitments, he passed the audition and secured his spot in TXT’s debut lineup.
Since then, Beomgyu has played a vital role in shaping TXT’s sound. He co-wrote Maze in the Mirror from The Dream Chapter: Eternity (2020) and Thursday’s Child Has Far to Go from Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child (2022), proving his skills as a songwriter.
In 2025, he stepped into solo music with Panic, his first single. Beyond music, Beomgyu has a deep commitment to mental health causes, donating 30 million won on his birthdays in 2024 and 2025 to support children and teens in psychological recovery programs.
His influence also extends to fashion—his ambassadorship with Coralhaze in Korea and Japan led to instant success for the brand. With his talent, charisma, and dedication, Beomgyu continues to leave a lasting mark on the industry.
