Balen Shah, born on April 27, 1990, in Kathmandu, Nepal, is a dynamic figure known for his work as a rapper, structural engineer, and politician. The youngest son of Ram Narayan Shah, an Ayurvedic practitioner, and Dhruva Devi Shah, Balen’s journey began with a deep passion for music and poetry, which eventually led him to the vibrant Nepali hip-hop scene. His rise to fame was propelled by his standout performances in the Raw Barz rap battle series, earning him recognition in the local music community.

In addition to his musical talent, Balen has made a significant mark in politics. He ran as an independent candidate in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City mayoral elections, distancing himself from traditional political parties. His message of change, progress, and urban development resonated deeply with the people, and in 2022, he was elected as the 15th mayor of Kathmandu.
