About Alan Walker

Alan Walker, born on August 24, 1997, in Northampton, England, is a Norwegian DJ and record producer renowned for his electronic music. His family relocated to Bergen, Norway, when he was two years old, and it was here that Walker’s passion for music blossomed. He grew up with a love for music but initially knew little about producing it. Inspired by EDM producers like K-391 and Ahrix, and film composers such as Hans Zimmer and Steve Jablonsky, Walker began exploring music production through YouTube tutorials, learning to use FL Studio on his laptop.

Walker initially gained recognition under the name DJ Walkzz before making his mark in the music industry. In 2014, he released his debut single “Fade,” which caught significant attention after being re-released by NoCopyrightSounds. The track rapidly gained popularity, setting records for reaching one million views quickly. Following the success of “Fade,” Walker signed with MER Musikk and released “Faded,” a vocal rework of “Fade” featuring Norwegian singer Iselin Solheim. This single became a massive hit, topping charts in over ten countries and becoming one of the most streamed and liked videos on YouTube.

In 2016, Walker continued his success with the release of “Sing Me to Sleep,” which also featured Solheim and topped charts in several countries. His single “Alone,” released later that year, featured Swedish singer Noonie Bao and further cemented his position in the electronic music scene. Walker’s live performances, including his notable concert “Alan Walker is Heading Home” in Bergen, showcased his growing popularity and his evolving musical style.

The year 2017 was marked by significant releases and collaborations. Walker’s single “Tired,” featuring Gavin James, and his collaboration with Alex Skrindo, “Sky,” added to his growing repertoire. He also released “The Spectre,” a vocal version of his earlier track “Spectre,” and “All Falls Down,” featuring Digital Farm Animals and Noah Cyrus. Despite mixed reviews, “All Falls Down” achieved top positions on various charts. Walker’s remix of Riot Games’ “Legends Never Die” further highlighted his versatility and collaboration prowess.

Walker’s debut album, “Different World,” released in December 2018, included hits like “Faded,” “Alone,” and “Darkside,” and showcased his ability to blend various musical elements. The album’s diverse tracks, including collaborations with Steve Aoki and other artists, demonstrated his growth as a musician.

In 2019, Walker expanded his reach with the release of “On My Way,” featuring Sabrina Carpenter and Farruko, which served as the soundtrack for PUBG Mobile. The year also saw collaborations with A$AP Rocky and a remake of DJ Mangoo’s “Eurodancer,” highlighting Walker’s adaptability and innovation. His music video for “Diamond Heart” was nominated for Best Cinematography at the Berlin Music Video Awards.

Walker continued to innovate in 2020 and 2021. He released a remix of Hans Zimmer’s “Time,” marking the first official remix of Zimmer’s work. In 2021, Walker partnered with ASUS and Republic of Gamers to launch the “ROG Zephyrus G14 Alan Walker Special Edition” gaming laptop, featuring custom designs and Walker’s signature elements.

Overall, Alan Walker’s career reflects his unique blend of electronic music, innovative collaborations, and successful ventures into various domains, establishing him as a prominent figure in the global music industry.
