Aile The Shota

Aile The Shota, born Shota Watanabe on March 15, 1998, in Adachi, Tokyo, is a rising Japanese singer-songwriter known for his seamless blend of R&B, hip-hop, and J-Pop. His musical journey began at a young age, and by 2014, he had enrolled in Watanabe Entertainment School’s singer-songwriter program to refine his skills. His early dedication to music, songwriting, and performance would later set the stage for his breakthrough in the industry.

In 2020, Aile The Shota competed in THE FIRST, a high-profile boy group audition hosted by SKY-HI. Though he made it to the final stages, he ultimately wasn’t selected for the group. However, recognizing his distinct talent, SKY-HI signed him as a solo artist under BMSG in August 2021. His debut single, AURORA TOKIO, dropped in January 2022, officially launching his career and showcasing his smooth vocals and genre-fluid style.

Since then, Aile The Shota has collaborated with some of Japan’s most respected producers and artists, including Shin Sakiura, A.G.O, tofubeats, and Soulflex. His music has resonated with audiences, leading to successful releases and a sold-out national tour in 2023. He also initiated an annual event aimed at fostering young talent in music and dance, further establishing his influence in the industry.

In July 2024, he took another leap in his career, transitioning to Bullmoose Records, a BMSG subsidiary, and releasing the single Odorimasenka? (Shall We Dance?). By November 2024, he unveiled his first full-length album, REAL POP, featuring standout tracks like Eternity and Yumeiro. With his signature silky vocals, introspective lyrics, and a sound that bridges global and Japanese influences, Aile The Shota continues to captivate listeners, cementing himself as a significant force in contemporary Japanese music.
