David Gilmour is a stage name of David Jon Gilmour, an English singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the rock band Pink Floyd. He was born on March 6, 1946 in Cambridge, England and joined Pink Floyd in 1967. He is known for his bluesy guitar solos, which often rely on sustained notes rather than shorter, faster notes.
He has released albums including On an Island (2006), Rattle That Lock (2015) and Live at Pompeii (2017) with songs Wish You Were Here, Time and Hey You.
