About Jonatan

Jonatan is the highly anticipated fifth studio album by Swedish artist Yung Lean, released on May 2, 2025, under his label World Affairs. This marks a return to his roots, both musically and personally, as it’s his first solo project since 2022’s Stardust and his first under the Yung Lean moniker since Starz in 2020. Yung Lean has also explored music under his alternate alias Jonatan Leandoer96, releasing Sugar World in 2023, and collaborating with Bladee on Psykos in 2024.

The album’s title, Jonatan, is inspired by his full birth name, Jonatan Aron Leandoer Håstad, symbolizing a more intimate and reflective direction in his music. The cover art, directed by Ecco2K, features a powerful portrait of Lean, aligning perfectly with the album’s introspective tone.

In the lead-up to the album’s release, Yung Lean dropped the single “Forever Yung” on February 21, 2025. The music video, directed by Aidan Zamiri, features a dramatic and symbolic performance of Lean hosting his own funeral, emphasizing the transformative nature of this project. The video also includes appearances from Sad Boys members Yung Sherman and Gud.

Following the album’s release, Yung Lean announced the “Forever Yung Tour”, set to begin in October 2025 across North America. The tour will extend to Europe and the UK in November, with stops in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, and many more.
