Crafted by María Zardoya, Josh Conway, Edward James, and Jesse Perlman, the track captures a raw emotional landscape—centering on the quiet ache of watching someone you once loved move on. Produced by Conway, it’s a lush, melancholic anthem that signals a new creative chapter for the band. María shared that the song came together almost effortlessly during a late-night studio jam, setting the tone for what’s next in their sonic evolution.

Surprising fans with a two-track release, The Marías also dropped “Nobody New” alongside the main single. While “Back To Me” taps into longing and vulnerability, “Nobody New” drifts deeper into solitude and emotional stillness. The B-side was co-written with hitmaker Benny Blanco, with Conway and María handling production. It’s a softer, more introspective companion that showcases María’s haunting vocal delivery in a stripped-down, emotional setting.
