Known for his genre-defying style, Skrillex gained widespread attention with hits like Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites (2010) and Bangarang (2011), which cemented his place in the global music scene. Over the years, he has continued to evolve, from his dubstep roots to incorporating new elements into his music, while maintaining his signature sound.
In 2023, Skrillex made waves with the simultaneous release of two albums, Quest for Fire and Don’t Get Too Close, further exploring his experimental side. However, his latest release, FCK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3*, which dropped unexpectedly on April 1, 2025, marks a significant shift in his career. This 46-minute mixtape features 34 tracks and is his final project under Atlantic Records, signaling the end of his contract and his move towards independent artistry.
The album revisits Skrillex’s dubstep roots, blending heavy bass with high-energy beats that made him a household name in the early 2010s.
