FROM.(English Translation) is the English Translation version of album From which is the highly anticipated fifth mini-album by South Korean band LUCY, released on August 14, 2024, at 6 p.m. KST. This marks their return after a five-month hiatus following their album “The Knight Who Can’t Die and the Silk Cradle” in March 2024. For this release, LUCY has made a bold move by featuring two title tracks, making it their first album with a dual focus on different musical directions.

The first title track, “Villain,” stands out with its modern rock style, highlighting LUCY’s signature powerful and refreshing sound. The track explores the chaotic emotions of a ‘villain,’ with dramatic shifts in sound that reflect inner turmoil. In contrast, the second title track, “Ugly,” brings in dynamic guitar riffs and emotional depth. The song delves into the speaker’s self-reflection, portraying feelings of insecurity, while the latter half introduces jazz elements that symbolize a softening of the speaker’s hardened emotions.

Alongside these title tracks, the album includes other captivating tracks like “Guardian Dance,” “Without,” and “Fall Blossom,” each contributing unique themes and musical styles to the album’s overall narrative. “FROM.” ties back to their debut single “DEAR.,” completing a cyclical journey from their initial rise to their continued evolution, promising growth in both their sound and their story.

Produced under the guidance of band member Jo Won-sang, with Shin Kwang-il contributing to “Without,” the album showcases LUCY’s growth as a band and their ability to blend different genres seamlessly. “FROM.” is available on various streaming platforms, including Bugs, offering fans a fresh chapter in LUCY’s musical journey.
