About The Great Impersonator

The Great Impersonator is Halsey’s fifth studio album, released on October 25, 2024. This album marks a significant evolution in their musical journey, following the 2021 release If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. With 18 tracks, including standout singles like “Lucky,” “Lonely is the Muse,” “Ego,” and “I Never Loved You,” The Great Impersonator showcases a more personal and reflective side of Halsey.

The creation of the album was deeply personal, with Halsey describing the process as being crafted “in the space between life and death,” reflecting on their life, fame, and health struggles. The album blends a variety of genres, including pop-punk, experimental rock, and ’90s R&B, offering a fresh sonic landscape that captures both emotional depth and experimentation.

In a unique marketing approach, Halsey transformed into iconic music figures such as Dolly Parton, Cher, Britney Spears, and David Bowie, each of whom influenced the sound and tone of the album. This creative campaign has resonated with fans and further bolstered the album’s buzz.

In support of The Great Impersonator, Halsey announced the “For My Last Trick: The Tour,” scheduled to begin in May 2025, where they will perform across North America. Despite facing recent health challenges, including hospitalization due to a seizure, Halsey remains dedicated to their craft and continues to push creative boundaries.
