MALA MÍA – EP

Mala Mía is a collaborative EP by Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera, two powerhouse groups in the regional Mexican music scene. Released on December 19, 2024, under Sony Music Latin, Rancho Humilde, and Street Mob, this project marks their first full-length collaboration after several successful joint singles. The EP showcases their ability to blend traditional sounds with modern influences, solidifying their status as leaders in the genre.

Featuring five tracks, Mala Mía seamlessly fuses elements of cumbia, Tejano, and corridos tumbados, delivering a fresh yet authentic sound. Lyrically, the songs dive into themes of love, heartbreak, and passionate affairs, resonating deeply with fans. Standout tracks include Me Jalo, which pairs Fuerza Regida’s signature raw storytelling with Grupo Frontera’s vibrant accordion melodies, and Aurora, a collaboration with rising stars Óscar Maydon and Armenta. Behind the scenes, top producers like Édgar Barrera, Jesús Ortíz Paz, and Carlos Gutiérrez López contributed to the EP’s polished and dynamic production.

Mala Mía made an immediate impact on the charts, debuting at No. 9 on the U.S. Top Latin Albums chart and climbing to No. 6 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart. Its lead single, Me Jalo, also gained traction, reaching No. 9 on the Mexico Songs chart. With its compelling mix of heartfelt lyrics and infectious rhythms, Mala Mía not only reinforces Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera’s influence in Latin music but also sets the stage for future collaborations in the genre.
